Isa
Isabella is a dynamic Spanish and Arts & Crafts instructor at YoHo, blending language education with creative expression. Holding a TESL certification and a Film Production degree from UBC, she brings a unique mix of storytelling and structured language teaching to her classes.
With years of experience teaching Spanish, English, and French—both online and in-person—Isabella has also designed and led immersive summer camps for kids and teens, making language learning fun through games, art, and cultural activities.
When she’s not teaching, you’ll find her:
✓ Dancing ballet or salsa (her love of languages even inspired her to learn German!)

✓ Embracing new adventures, whether traveling or exploring local cultures

Andrés
Andrés is a Spanish instructor and artist, that brings together language, storytelling, and creativity into his classes. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Writing and Literature at Capilano University, he approaches teaching through the lens of narrative, culture, and artistic expression.
With experience in language learning and the arts, his classes emphasize communication, curiosity, and creativity, encouraging students to explore language and multiple art forms through the creation of crafts, games and storytelling.
When he’s not teaching, you’ll likely find him:

Andrés brings enthusiasm, imagination, and many songs in his pocket—because learning a language should feel alive, expressive, and fun.
Han
Hanyue holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Fuzhou University, China and graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, specializing in Digital Media. As a native Mandarin speaker with experience teaching art to Chinese and international students, she bridges Eastern and Western artistic approaches in her lessons.
With over three years specializing in anime-style illustration, Hanyue has mastered creating lively fictional characters/animation - a skill she loves sharing through bilingual (English/Mandarin) instruction. Her teaching style breaks down complex designs into joyful, step-by-step lessons that help young artists:

Prachi is a dynamic Spanish and English instructor at YoHo, Prachi holds a Master's in Spanish Language and TEFL certification, skillfully blending language instruction with arts and crafts. With 3+ years of experience teaching Spanish, English, and Hindi across diverse age groups—both online and in-person—she brings authentic expertise to the classroom.
Her global teaching journey includes:

Meet the Team Behind
Lingling
LingLing is Co-Founder and Program Director of YoHo Explorer Youth Academy, where she develops the Linguistics, Nature, and Arts pillar within a globally oriented educational framework. She integrates language science, music, creativity, and cultural studies to build strong developmental foundations for young learners.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Beijing Jiaotong University, along with a certified music teacher qualification, Japanese-Language Proficiency Level N1, and Putonghua (Mandarin) Proficiency Level 1-B certification. Her professional background includes experience in multinational corporate environments, cross-cultural communication, project translation, and multilingual language and piano instruction. These experiences shaped her interdisciplinary approach to education, bridging Eastern and Western learning perspectives.
LingLing developed the Linguistics and Arts curriculum in response to an increasingly interconnected and multicultural world. She views language as a structured cognitive system that shapes reasoning, creativity, and cultural awareness. Early multilingual exposure, in her perspective, strengthens neural development, cognitive flexibility, and long-term adaptability.
Her curriculum is intentionally structured by age group. For younger students, the focus is on cultivating linguistic awareness, listening sensitivity, expressive confidence, and creativity through music, storytelling, nature-based exploration, and hands-on crafts. Students are introduced to world writing systems and foundational phonetic concepts, including exposure to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), in age-appropriate formats. As students mature, the program progressively deepens into structured study of writing systems, phonetic structures, multilingual comparison, and cultural analysis. Older students engage in interdisciplinary projects that strengthen analytical thinking, cross-cultural understanding, and global communication readiness.
By building a strong linguistic and creative foundation early, students develop focus, memory capacity, empathy, and structured thinking—skills that support leadership, adaptability, and confident self-expression.

Selena
Selena Wang is Co-Founder of YoHo Explorer Youth Academy, where she integrates entrepreneurial expertise with global business education for young learners. A graduate of the University of Alberta, she earned her degree in Accounting with a minor in International Business, building a strong foundation in financial management, strategic planning, and cross-border commerce.
Prior to co-founding YoHo, Selena served as a Marketing Manager for an innovation-focused battery company, leading brand development and market strategy initiatives. She later founded and operated her own café in Vancouver’s Olympic Village for four years, overseeing operations, financial planning, customer relations, and team leadership. These experiences provide her with comprehensive, real-world insight into entrepreneurship, regulatory compliance, and sustainable business development.
Selena created the Young Entrepreneur curriculum in response to an increasingly international, open, and multicultural world. She believes entrepreneurship today represents a mindset—one that equips students to recognize opportunities, evaluate risk, collaborate across cultures, and create meaningful value in diverse environments.
Her curriculum is intentionally structured by age group. For younger students, the focus is on cultivating foundational habits—initiative, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and basic financial awareness. Through real, hands-on craft and innovative creative projects, students design and build tangible products, allowing them to experience the process of idea development, production, and presentation. Early exposure helps children understand concepts such as value creation, responsibility, planning, and the relationship between effort and outcome. As students mature, the program progressively introduces market research, branding, budgeting, cost analysis, ethical decision-making, and international trade principles. Older students engage in case studies, simulations, and cross-cultural business analysis, developing a clearer understanding of regulations, bylaws, and global market systems.

Diane
Diane is a creative and detail-oriented Jewelry Designer at YoHo. She graduated from St. Paul University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and holds a Certificate in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, as well as the Putonghua Proficiency Test Level 1-B certificate.
With several years of experience working in the operations department of an international hospital, Diane developed strong organizational skills, cross-cultural communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail. At YoHo, she supports the design and development of diverse craft-based curriculum activities and contributes to various special events, creating engaging hands-on experiences for young learners.
Her design approach focuses on integrating diverse cultural elements into creative work, exploring a wide range of materials and techniques to inspire imaginative expression in every project.
In her free time, she enjoys:

Diane finds the greatest joy in seeing children’s happy smiles as they complete their creations. Through working closely with young learners, she continuously gains new inspiration while growing alongside them as an educator and designer.
